St Francis Church of England School

parish links and church inspection

Our school is inspected by the Diocese of Oxford to evaluate the distinctiveness and effectiveness of the school as a church school. This is known as SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools).

The distinctiveness and effectiveness of St Francis as a Church of England school are good. The strategic leadership of the governors and senior staff is effective in promoting the Christian vision and values of the school ensuring that it is continually improving. The school has a well embedded Christian ethos stemming from a sound understanding and application of its distinctive Christian values to all areas of school life. The school’s relationships with parents, St Francis church and the community are strong, stemming from the school’s Christian vision to promote the God-given potential of each child to the full. The school’s distinctive Christian character, understood and valued by all key stakeholders, results in high standards of behaviour and good quality relationships across the school.
